The RUPALOKA series, in progress, began in 2012, progressively developing as four subseries: IL RAPIMENTO DI PROSERPINA, ALFABETO IONICO, PARADISI INFERIORI and I PILASTRI DELL'ARTE. In the Buddhist cosmology RUPALOKA is the metaphysical dimension of primordial forms, situated between KAMALOKA, the realm of the senses, and ARUPALOKA, the realm without form. Halfway between KAMALOKA and RUPALOKA evolved beings exist, bound by beauty and the more refined desire: LOWER PARADISES, PARADISI INFERIORI. In that sensual and rarefied world metaphysical painting kisses love poetry, risking Hell in order not to betray the most intimate existential aspirations. |
